Pheromone glue traps for pantry moths – odorless, insecticide-free & effective

Pantry moths – such as Indian meal moths or flour moths – are a common problem in kitchens, cupboards, and pantries. They lay their eggs in dry food products like flour, muesli, rice, nuts, or dried fruit. The larvae that hatch contaminate supplies and can spread quickly. Our pheromone glue traps for pantry moths offer a simple and reliable way to detect an infestation early and monitor moth activity in a targeted manner.

The traps contain a specially developed, synthetically produced pheromone lure that specifically attracts male pantry moths. The lure mimics the natural sex pheromone of female moths and draws the males onto the adhesive surface, where they become permanently stuck. This helps reduce reproduction and curb the further spread of an infestation. The traps work without insecticides and are odorless to humans.

Advantages of our pheromone traps

  • No insecticides: Targeted attraction through pheromones and adhesive surface – without toxic insecticides
  • Odorless & discreet: Ideal for kitchens, cupboards, pantries, and storage rooms
  • Easy to use: Unpack, remove the protective film, and place the trap in the desired location
  • Early detection: Ideal for infestation monitoring and checking moth activity
  • Targeted attraction: Special pheromone lure attracts male pantry moths
  • Long-lasting effect: One trap remains active for up to 3 months

💡 Important to know:
Pheromone traps are ideal for the early detection and monitoring of a pantry moth infestation. Because they primarily attract male moths, they cannot eliminate existing eggs and larvae. Therefore, in the case of an active infestation, glue traps alone are usually not enough to get rid of the moths permanently.

🐝 Our recommendation: Trichogramma wasps against pantry moths!
For targeted, natural, and sustainable control, we recommend using Trichogramma wasps against pantry moths. These tiny beneficial insects, which are harmless to humans and pets, independently search for pantry moth eggs and lay their own eggs inside them. This stops the development of the moth eggs, preventing new moth larvae from hatching.

Trichogramma wasps are barely visible to the naked eye, do not sting, and are completely discreet. They actively search for moth eggs in cupboards, cracks, and hard-to-reach areas. Once there are no more suitable moth eggs available, the Trichogramma wasps can no longer reproduce and disappear naturally.

The ideal combination against pantry moths:
While pheromone glue traps attract male pantry moths and make an infestation visible, Trichogramma wasps combat the next generation of moths directly inside the egg. Both methods complement each other perfectly: the glue traps help with monitoring, while Trichogramma wasps biologically interrupt the moths' reproductive cycle. Together, they support effective and long-term containment of the infestation – completely without chemical insecticides.

Our tip: Use Trichogramma wasps over several weeks according to the application plan to ensure that newly laid moth eggs are also covered. Additionally, check all food supplies, dispose of infested items, and thoroughly clean cupboards and hard-to-reach corners. Since Trichogramma wasps do not combat existing larvae or pupae, this combination is particularly important for successful moth control.

FAQs

The traps contain a special attractant that draws in male moths of the target species. They get stuck on the adhesive surface. This makes it possible to detect and monitor an infestation.

Pantry moth traps are designed for specific moth species in food storage. Clothes moth traps serve to monitor infestations in textiles. Since the attractants are tailored to different moth species, the traps are not interchangeable.

No. Pheromone traps attract male moths. Existing eggs, larvae, and pupae are not captured by them.

No. The traps help with monitoring the infestation. In addition, infested food or textiles must be inspected, and appropriate cleaning and control measures must be carried out.

Yes, for early detection of an infestation. However, the traps do not prevent moths from being brought in or laying eggs.

Yes, they are excellent for early detection and prevention – especially at windows, light sources, or plants.

Remove the trap from the packaging and remove the protective paper according to the instructions for use. Fold or attach it as directed and note the installation date. Try not to touch the adhesive surface.

In the places specified in the instructions for use in the kitchen, pantry cupboard, or storeroom. Avoid direct contact of the adhesive surface with food and avoid damp or very dirty locations.

Near vulnerable textiles, for example in the closet or dressing room. Choose a quiet, draft-free location and follow the instructions regarding height and spacing on the packaging.

This depends on the product as well as the size and layout of the area being treated. Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding the number per room or cupboard. More traps do not automatically mean better infestation control.

Check them regularly, for example once a week. Record new catches and, in the event of an infestation, also check surrounding food or textiles.

The effective period depends on the product. Replace the trap at the latest by the date indicated on the packaging – even if the adhesive surface still looks clear.

If the adhesive surface is heavily covered with moths, dust, or fibers, if it has been damaged, or if it is no longer sticky enough.

The expiry date indicated on the trap (if applicable) is the deciding factor.

Store them according to the instructions on the packaging, usually in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight. Leave the protective cover on the adhesive surface until use.

The usual disposable adhesive traps are not designed for this. Do not clean or spray the adhesive surface; replace the trap according to the instructions.

It may be a different moth species, female moths, or an unsuitable location. Also, check whether the trap was activated correctly and if its effective period has not yet expired.

No. Eggs, larvae, pupae, and female moths are not caught. Therefore, additionally check food for webbing and larvae, as well as textiles for signs of feeding.

For pantry moths: check supplies including pet food, dispose of infested products, and clean cupboards thoroughly. For clothes moths: examine textiles, treat them according to care instructions, and vacuum cupboards carefully, including cracks and crevices.

Store dry food in tightly sealing containers and check new groceries. Keep vulnerable textiles clean and well protected. Regularly check cupboards and rarely used areas.

Our adhesive traps can be disposed of in general waste.
